Taapsee Pannu recently shared insights about her upcoming action-thriller Gandhari, which revolves around a mother-daughter relationship. In an interview with News X, the actor reflected on the growing popularity of the spy-thriller genre, emphasising that she had already explored this territory years ago.
When asked about her return to the action genre following her roles in Baby and Naam Shabana, Taapsee remarked, “I believe going in very interesting character action. Actually, action spy thrillers were not in fashion. Now, everybody wants to do a spy thriller.”
She added, “I did it so many years ago that now if I do it again it’s very weird; why are you repeating yourself? I’ve done something which was so remarkable back then, I don’t want to touch it and spoil it again. If I have to really do action thriller I was very clear I will go in some other world.”
Gandhari is described as an action-thriller film that will explore a “different kind of love — the profound bond between mother and child”, a press release said. The film will also mark the third collaboration between Taapsee and producer Kanika Dhillon – after Haaseen Dillruba and Phir Aayi Haaseen Dillruba.
