Offered for your consideration is... 1978 Grand Slam card #23 - JOHNNY MIZE ~ St. Louis Cardinals Great Collector Issue ~ Limited Distribution Originally part of a 200-card set issued in 1978 by collector and Donruss photographer Jack Wallin, this card was specially designed for autograph collectors. All cards in the 1978 Grand Slam card set featured images of retired players alive at the time of issuance - making for an autograph collector's dream. Card size is approximately 2-1/4 by 3-1/4 inches, with black & white photo on the front and card number, player name, brief biographical sketch and GRAND SLAM 1978 on the back. Although most of the players have passed on in the 30+ years since the cards were issued, they are great collectibles, reasonably scarce and ought to be considered by any serious collector.
